Shelby Rogers (b. October 13, 1992) is an American tennis player from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She is currently ranked #93 by the Women's Tennis Association in Singles Ranking and #198 in the Doubles Ranking. Shelby began playing tennis at the early age of six and was immediately recognized for her natural athletic ability and potential. By age 11, Shelby was competing on the national stage. While being home-schooled during high school, Shelby received invitations and scholarship offers from numerous top universities. However, in 2009 at age 17, she decided to turn pro and played her first events on the ITF circuit. By 2014 she had broken into the Top 100 and went on to reach the 3rd round in the 2015 U.S. Open. Shelby's ranking continued to improve until she reached the #48 ranking in 2016. That year, she was a finalist at the Rio Open and achieved her best Grand Slam finish at Roland Garros. Shelby suffered a knee injury in 2017 causing her to undergo knee surgery in 2018, keeping her from competing that year. In 2019, she was back at it, making the second round at Roland Garros and winning a singles title on the ITF circuit.
