Alexander "Sascha" Zverev, Jr. (born 20 April 1997) is a German professional tennis player that started playing at the age 5. He is the son of former Russian tennis player Alexander Zverev Sr. and the younger brother of tennis player Mischa Zverev. Between October 2013 and June 2014, Zverev was the No. 1 ranked boys junior player before turning pro. He became one of the youngest players to ever win an ATP Challenger Tour title in 2014 at the Sparkassen Open in Braunschweig. His rise on the pro tour came quickly as he captured two Masters' 1000 titles in 2017 at Rome and Toronto when he was only 19 years of age. The following year he continued showing progress by capturing the Madrid Open Masters' 1000 title and Nitto ATP Finals title defeating Novak Djokovic in the final. He was named 2015 ATP Newcomer of the Year and played his idol Roger Federer in 2019 at a record-setting exhibition match in Mexico City. He's a big dog lover who travels around the world with his 2 dogs, Lovik and Junior. In his spare time, he loves watching soccer or basketball, playing golf and video games (mostly FIFA).
