Magda Linette (born Feburary 12, 1992) began playing tennis at the age of 5. Her father, Tomaxa Linette, was himself a tennis coach and guided her through her earliest times with tennis. Magda represented th Grunwald Poznan club in her youth, where she was a multi-time Polish Champion in multiple categories as well as a gold medalist in the Polish Team Championships. In August 2019, Linette won her first WTA title at the first edition of the Bronx Open, later breaking into the WTA Top 50 after reaching the 2nd round of the US Open. Magda made it into her first Grand Slam semifinals at the 2023 Australian Open. Her play style is primarily defensive, using her speed and footwork to gain superior court coverage. Hard courts and grass are her favorite court surfaces, and Roland Garros is her favorite tournament.
