Talented Frenchman Lucas Pouille is known for his speed, his all-court game and powerful groundstrokes. He started playing tennis the age of 8 inspired to play by his idol Roger Federer. Pouille was first noticed at the 2016 US Open where he defeated Rafael Nadal in the fourth round to advance to the Quarterfinals for the first time in his career. In 2017 he reached the Semifinals of the Monte Carlo Masters, captured his second career ATP Singles title, and helped team France win their 10th Davis Cup title against Belgium. In 2019 he attained a new milestone, reaching the Semifinals of the Australian Open by beating seeded Milos Raonic in the Quarterfinal. His favorite surface is hard courts, his favorite shot is his forehand, and in his spare time he enjoys soccer, shopping, and spending time with friends. In September 2019, he got married to his wife Clemence.
