Jasmine Paolini began learning tennis at the age of 5, and after debuting in the ITF Circuit in 2011 she picked up 9 singles and one doubles title throughout her junior career. She made her WTA debut in 2015 in her home country at the Italian Open, later making her main draw debut in 2017 at the Bastad Open. Paolini also participated in the Billie Jean King Cup from 2017-2019 as part of Team Italy. In 2019, she qualified for the French Open where she made her Grand Slam debut. 2021 would be a breakthrough year for Paolini, where she won her first singles at the Bol Open, as well as her first doubles title at Hamburg, in addition to appearing in all 4 Grand Slams that year. Throughout 2022 and 2023, Paolini rose the ranks, breaking into the top 50 in 2022 and later the top 30 in 2023 as Italy's No.1 WTA player.
