EmmaNavarro
Born in New York City and raised in Charleston, Emma Navarro started her junior tennis career strong. Throughout 2019, she had prominent results being a Australian Open Junior doubles finalist, the Roland Garros Junior doubles champion and Singles finalist, and a semi-finalist in Wimbledon Junior. She made her WTA debut in 2019, receiving a wildcard to play singles and doubles in the Charleston Open. In 2020 she was rated the best tennis recruit in the US and attended the University of Virginia, later winning the NCAA Singles Championship in her freshman year on May 2021. This accomplishment earned her a wildedcard for that year's US Open, where she made her Grand Slam debut. Navarro left college in 2022 to fully commit to tennis, and in 2023 she broke into the top 50 at that year's US Open and ended the season ranked No. 38 in the WTA singles rankings. 2024 marked her maiden WTA title at the Hobart International, defeating that tournaments 2-time champion Elise Mertens to win the title. Her trajectory is looking upwards as reached the third round at a Major for the first time at the 2024 Australian Open.
