Undersized but tenacious, Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman began playing tennis at age 7. During his childhood, he played tennis at Club Náutico Hacoaj, a Jewish sport club in Buenos Aires that was established by and for Jews who weren't allowed to join other sports clubs in the city in the early 20th century. In 2010 and 2012 he started winning future tournaments all across South America earning much recognition in the sport. In 2014 her captured four ATP Challenger Singles titles and qualified for his first grand slam the French Open. Two years later he broke through on the ATP circuit winning his first Singles title in Istanbul. Diego has steadily been climbing up the ranks reaching a ATP top 20 ranking in 2018, and reaching two Grand Slam Singles Quarterfinal appearances. His favorite surfaces are clay and hard courts, his favorite shot is his backhand, and his favorite tournament is Roland Garros. His hobbies include playing or watching soccer, and listening to reggaeton music.
