Benoit Paire, is nicknamed “La Tige” (the stalk) because he’s tall and thin. He started playing tennis at age 6 with his father who used to work at a small tennis club next to his house. His brother Thomas works as a tennis coach. Paire’s idol growing up was Marat Safin and his favorite surface is clay. His favorite shot is his backhand. He likes to watch football and would have played football if he wasn’t a tennis player.
