Anastasija Sevastova was born and raised from Liepaja, Latvia by her mother Diana. She started playing at age 6 for fun until she was 15. In her early career after turning pro she picked up some big wins and reached the 4th round at the Australian Open. After nagging injuries and illness she announced her retirement from the game in May 2013. 2015 she came back playing with great belief in her game and in 2017 at the Mallorca Open she captured her second WTA Singles title. This same year she made it to the Semifinals of Dubai, Madrid, and WTA Elite Trophy as well as the Quarterfinals of the US Open. Although tennis is her profession, she still enjoys playing soccer and jet skiing in her spare time. Her favorite place to visit in New York City and her favorite tournaments are the US Open and Roland Garros.
