Wilson DefyerThe Complete Family
The 98 Pro arrived in July and turned heads. Now the rest of the Defyer lineup is here, and there is a frame for every type of player who wants to own the baseline.
When Wilson launched the Defyer 98 Pro in July, it made a clear statement: this is a spin-focused racquet line built with the control and feel of a player's frame. The 98 Pro delivered on that promise, and now the full Defyer family is available, four models in total, each tuned for a different player profile while sharing the same core technology and philosophy.
Here is everything you need to know about the complete Wilson Defyer lineup and how to find the right frame for your game.
- Torq Shaft technology for leverage, stability, and heavy spin production
- Airfoil Bumper that cuts drag for faster head speed and racquet acceleration
- Parallel Drilling for a more consistent, forgiving string bed and a wider sweet spot
- DirectConnect carbon fiber handle for improved torsional stability and clean ball feel
- Click & Go bumper system for easy replacement, durability, and a precise fit
The technology behind every Defyer
Every model in the Defyer family is built around the same two new technologies. The Torq Shaft features sculpted, tapered shafts that generate leverage and stability through the swing, giving players the ability to load up and drive heavy, penetrating topspin without losing directional control. The ergonomic outside shaft is shaped to fit a player's off-hand when loading for big groundstrokes, and the extended handle gives two-handed backhand players added leverage from the top hand.
Paired with the Airfoil Bumper, which reduces aerodynamic drag to increase head speed and racquet acceleration through the contact zone, the Defyer line rewards players who commit to the ball and swing aggressively. Parallel Drilling and the DirectConnect handle round out the package, delivering a consistent string bed response and torsional stability that keeps off-center hits controlled.

"Four frames. One philosophy: heavy spin, real control."
The four Defyer models
Defyer 98 Pro
The tour-caliber anchor of the lineup. The 98 Pro is built for competitive players who want maximum precision and penetrating spin on a tighter string bed. At 10.8 oz. with a 98 sq. in. head and 16x20 pattern, it rewards aggressive swings with pinpoint placement and exceptional torsional stability.
Defyer 100
A slightly larger head and a touch less weight open up more power and forgiveness without stepping away from the spin-and-control identity of the line. The 16x19 string pattern adds more bite on the ball, making the 100 a great fit for competitive club players who want Defyer performance with a more comfortable feel.
Defyer 100L
At 10.1 oz., the 100L is built for players who want to swing fast and keep rallies on their terms without carrying extra weight. The lighter frame makes it easier to generate head speed naturally, working directly in favor of the Torq Shaft's spin-loading design. A strong pick for intermediate players stepping up their spin game or anyone who values maneuverability through the hitting zone.
Defyer 100UL
The lightest frame in the family at just 9.3 oz. unstrung. The 100UL swings effortlessly and still delivers everything the Defyer line promises in terms of spin and control. Juniors, seniors, and players returning to the game will find it the easiest frame to get up to speed with, and anyone who prioritizes swing speed over mass will feel right at home.
