HEAD Instinct: Back from the Dead

Rumors of the HEAD Instinct Tennis Racquet's demise have been proven incorrect. For 2025, 4 new models are here, and with them comes HEAD's Auxetic construction. Located in the racquet bridge, the Auxetic construction creates ideal feedback based on impact location. In short, it makes the already comfortable Instincts, even more user-friendly. The Instinct lineup makes the performance more accessible thanks to prices well under $200. We break down each model below.

HEAD Instinct MP

The Instinct MP provides effortless performance and comfort for the advanced tournament player with a new design and Auxetic technology for enhanced flex and a clean impact feel. The secret to easy playability lies in the specially designed cross-section, which provides added stability and an increased sweet spot for more power. While a 10.6 ounce, 100 square-inch head is very common on the racquet market, the Instinct MP delivers a powerful racquet with a throwback flexible feel. If you crave power but need arm comfort, this is a perfect racquet option.

HEAD Instinct Team L

The Team L is 27.2 inches long for more reach, and it has a spacious 107 square-inch head for a huge sweet spot. The racquet's 9.5-ounce unstrung weight is very mobile, and the 16x19 string pattern makes it easy to create spin. 107 head sizes are not as common as they once were, but the Team L DOES offer more traditional playability compared to the Instinct PWR models. Doubles players who want some extra reach and power, without losing comfort are perfect for Team L.

HEAD Instinct PWR 110

The PWR models shift back in time to a more snowshoe head shape. The extended length adds reach and power. and the lightweight yet sturdy head-heavy balance makes the racquet stable.  The fanned string pattern provides impressive grip even with shorter, more compact swings. The PWR 110 has a more crisp and powerful feel than the MP or TEAM L. It is also exceedingly light at 9.3 ounces.

HEAD Instinct PWR 115

The PWR models shift back in time to a more snowshoe head shape. The extended length adds reach and power. and the lightweight yet sturdy head-heavy balance makes the racquet stable.  The fanned string pattern provides impressive grip even with shorter, more compact swings. The PWR 115 has the largest head size in the whole lineup, and thanks to the 27.7 inch length, the racquet is still maneuverable.

New Look and Wrap-Up

The Instincts look stellar thanks to the black and light blue cosmetics. This line delivers impressive performance for a fair price, and the racquets are perfect for young players looking for a quality racquet without breaking the $200 threshold.
