American-born Victoria Vanessa Mboko moved to Toronto, Canada as a young child. As the youngest of 4 tennis-playing siblings, Victoria naturally took inspiration from her family and started tennis at a young age. In 2022, Mboko claimed her first ITF title at Saskatoon, Canada as well as making her first WTA Tour appearanaces at Toronto and Granby. Her first WTA 1000 main draw entry came in the 2025 Miami Open via wildcard, starting the year strong and later making Grand Slam appearances at the French Open and Wimbledon championships. At the 2025 Canadian Open, Mboka defeated Coco Gauff on her way to the finals, whom she lost to earlier that year at the Italian Open. Mboko became the youngest semfinalist since Elena Rybakina in 2015, and her placement put her into the WTA Top 50 in the live rankings.
