Misaki was introduced to tennis at age 6 by her parents. Her older brother, Ryota, is a tennis coach. She has trained at the National Training Center in Tokyo since 2008 and reached 2 Junior Grand Slam Doubles finals – Wimbledon 2007 and Australian Open 2008. In 2009 she officially turned pro at 17 years of age primarily playing in Japan winning 2 tournaments in singles. She is an all-court player who likes being aggressive and coming to the net. Her idol growing up was Justine Henin “because she’s small in stature, but had a very aggressive game.” In her spare time, she enjoys shopping and watching Japanese movies.
