Wilson Blade v10 Racquet Review: The Blade Gets Some Muscle

Wilson's most decorated racquet line just got sharper. The Blade v10 arrives April 15, 2026, built around four goals: more power, higher stability at fast swing speeds, tighter manufacturing tolerances, and a championship green cosmetic worthy of its 10th edition.

A Legacy Built for Big Moments

The Blade has always had a clear identity - it's the control racquet for players who want to feel the ball, own their shot placement, and perform when points matter most. As of August 2025, the Blade is chosen by more Top 100 ATP and WTA players than any other racquet franchise.

Wilson's own testing backs that up. SI3D technology helps reduce twisting on contact for more directional control, especially on returns of serve and volleys hit at pace. With v10, Wilson seeks to make the Blade the most stable control frame on the market.

On-Court Impressions - Blade 98 v10

After extensive on-court testing with both the 16x19 and 18x20, the first thing that jumps out about the Blade 98 v10 is the power - and more specifically, the forgiveness. That's not something you typically associate with a thin-beam control racquet.

The 18x20 in particular plays easier and hits harder than the Blade v9. You are not punished for slightly mis-timing the ball, and the TurboTaper beam holds up against heavy incoming shots in a way that makes the frame feel more stable than its beam width suggests. Players who face big hitters will notice this most on return of serve and during baseline exchanges when balls are coming in hot.

What impresses most is that Wilson accomplished this without giving up what makes the Blade the Blade. The precision is still there. The feel is still identifiable. The v10 brings better stability to a frame category that has always asked players to accept a trade-off.

What's New in the Wilson Blade v10

The v10 introduces four new technologies - three exclusive to the Blade 98 16x19 and 18x20.

TurboTaper

A redesigned frame taper for faster swing speeds and better stability on contact. The benefit shows up most on return of serve, on-the-run groundstrokes, and defensive balls from deep in the court. Applies to: Blade 98 16x19 and 18x20 v10 only

StableFeel+

Keeps the racquet locked in on aggressive swings and off-center hits. Players can swing freely and trust the result - this tech becomes most noticeable the harder you hit. Applies to: Blade 98 16x19 and 18x20 v10 only

Elite Spec Control

Every Blade v10 rolls off the line within tighter tolerances than the v9 - swing weight variance cut in half (from +/-10 to +/-5 kg-cm2), weight tightened to +/-5g, balance to +/-0.5cm. Every frame in a set plays nearly identically. Applies to: Blade 98 16x19 and 18x20 v10 only.

X-Loop

Built into the frame to maximize feel and connection to the ball. Wilson describes it as the foundation of the Blade's "zen-like control." Applied across the full v10 lineup.

Carry-Over Tech from v9

  • FortyFive Layup: Complements modern vertical swing paths, increasing flexibility and stability through the swing.
  • Direct Connect: Carbon fiber handle fused to the end cap for torsional stability and feel.
  • Clip & Go Bumper System: Easier replacement, better fit, improved durability.

The Wilson Blade v10 Lineup

Blade 98 v10 - 16x19 and 18x20

The heart of the franchise. The 16x19 gives players topspin and power access; the 18x20 tightens the string bed for surgical control and a firmer feel. Both built for intermediate to advanced players who generate their own pace.

Blade 100 v10

A touch more forgiving and accessible than the 98, with an open 16x19 pattern that makes spin come easier. The right fit for players who want Blade feedback without the full demands of the 98.

Blade 100L v10

Same head size as the 100 with a lighter build for faster swing speeds and easier racquet head acceleration.

Blade 100UL v10

The lightest adult Blade. Built for maximum swing speed - a strong choice for players managing arm fatigue or anyone easing back into competition.

Blade 104 v10

The most forgiving model in the lineup. A 104 sq. in. head and 27.5-inch length deliver a bigger sweet spot and added reach. Built for recreational to intermediate players who want Blade comfort without the precision demands of the 98.

Blade 26 and Blade 25 (Junior)

Wilson construction is at the right length for developing players.

What You Will Love

The biggest surprise with the Blade 98 v10 is that Wilson added power and forgiveness to a thin-beam control racquet without softening the feel. Off-center hits that would have floated or died with the v9 still find the court. The TurboTaper beam absorbs incoming pace better than you'd expect from this profile, and you're not fighting the racquet anymore - you're working with it.

Who Should Play the Wilson Blade v10?
