It’s hard to believe that Tennis Express began in a 300-square-foot apartment in Houston. Back in 2000, founders Brad and Sean ran the entire operation themselves—handling customer service, shipping, and even taking out the trash. There were no employees, no marketing team, and no foot traffic—just two passionate tennis lovers determined to create something special.

To spread the word, they organized tournaments, handed out flyers, and built relationships with top brands like Wilson. Slowly but surely, Tennis Express gained recognition. By 2003, we took a leap of faith, moving into a 2,000-square-foot retail space, and within just a few months, we needed to expand again.

From those early days, Tennis Express continued to grow, reaching new heights every year:

2004: Named a Top 10 Specialty Retailer by the Tennis Industry Association.
2005: Expanded to a 5,600-square-foot store to accommodate growing demand.
2008: Awarded Babolat Retailer of the Year and strengthened partnerships with top brands.
2009: Launched Tennis Now, our online community for news, blogs, and exclusive gear reviews.
2011: Became the #2 largest tennis specialty retailer in the U.S.
2013: A major turning point—Tennis Express moved into a 42,000-square-foot headquarters, featuring a 10,000-square-foot store and an indoor tennis court.
2017: Became the #1 purchaser of performance tennis rackets from Wilson and launched the Wilson Club and Wilson Café at the U.S. Open.
