Tennis Shoe Technology
Even though these tennis shoes have a vintage flare, they have several contemporary characteristics. Among the long list of features in the CG1, one of the most recognizable is the unique mid-top design. This gives both support and stability to the ankle, heel, and foot. While the higher ankle collar is something to get used to, once you do, it will actually add pep to your step and bring a new level of confidence to your game. Equally, the new Energy Arc gives players a great sense of energy return. This is a carbon fiber plate that New Balance added to the midsole. The shoes are constructed with materials that support shape, adding longevity to their life on the court. At the same time, they have some flexibility and are not clunky or heavy by any means. Another feature is the full-length Ndurance outsole. This provides long-lasting traction and durability. Keep in mind this shoe is slightly heavier than other New Balance tennis shoes. The sizes are listed in MEN's sizes, therefore women should purchase 1.5 sizes smaller. For example, if you are a women's size 10, then you should buy a men's size 8.5. The shoes come in a standard D width or a wider 2E width. The CG1s come in two colorways. A complimentary Black and White option as well as a US Open-influenced Energy Red and Bright Lapis.Coco's Career Behind the Tennis Shoes
Coco started playing tennis when she was six years old. She played at Pompey Park in Delray Beach, Florida, and has even incorporated the coordinates onto her signature tennis shoes. She has been wearing New Balance since the age of 14, about the time she climbed her way to the top, earning the world's No. 1 junior title. Coco became the youngest finalist in the girls' singles junior US Open and the youngest champion at the 2018 junior French Open. Today, Coco is considered a rising star. And she's only 18! Currently, she is ranked No. 12 in the world and holds two singles titles. She also holds five doubles titles and made it to the finals at the 2022 Roland Garros where she lost to Iga Swiatek (6-1, 6-3). More recently she's been preparing for the US Open where she hopes to go all the way and do it in fashion. Coco will be wearing her signature shoes along with a special NYC tennis apparel by New Balance. Coco loves how the shoes turned out and New Balance is so proud of this product, they offer a 6-month outsole warranty. The Coco CG1 tennis shoes are available now, but only while supplies last.
