Head’s revolutionary MicroGEL technology is a silicone-based material with the lowest density of any solid known on the planet. Microgel is able to support up to 4,000 times its own weight, and weighs only 3mg per cubic centimeter. Head has currently fused a stiff and strong carbon composite fibers with MicroGEL material which has contributed to their new line of racquets. During ball impact, Head MicroGEL is able to evenly distribute the impact load around the frame to provide a rock-solid feel and unique touch not found in most racquets.
What happens during ball impact?
The MicroGEL material compresses and changes in turn
taking in most of the shock while distributing the shock evenly.
Feature:
With an increased head width, Head's Extreme Racquets are
allowing the ball to slide further across the string-bed
for enhanced spin generation and improved stability.
Benefit:
The increase in head width causes the ball to come off the
strings with greater spin, in turn enabling a larger distance
between the net and the ball’s flight trajectory.
