MartaKostyuk
Tennis runs in Marta Kostyuk's blood, whose mother was a former pro player and her father was the technical director of the Antey Cup junior tennis tournament in Kyiv. From a young age, she'd receive coaching from her mother, Talina, at the Antey Tennis Club, which became a bonding experience for both of them. Later, her uncle Taras Beiko, another former Ukrainian pro, would take up coaching responsibilities. Kostyuk led an illustrious junior career, including victories at the 2015 Junior Orange Bowl in Florida, the 2016 Petits As in France, and the girls' singles title at the 2017 Australian Open. These victories, among others, culminated in a career-high junior ranking of world No. 2. 2016 also marked her professional debut at Kharkhiv, Ukraine, and her Grand Slam main draw debut came in 2018 as a wildcard going into the Australian Open where she reached 3rd round. Her maiden singles title was won at the inaugural ATX Open in 2023, taking her to the top 40 in the WTA rankings. Going into 2024, her hard work paid off with wins over five top 10 players, including a victory over Jessica Pegula who was in the top 5 at the San Diego Open, closing out the year at rank no. 18.
