Prince EXO3 Blue 110 Racquet Review

The Blue 110 is what I classify as a player development frame. This is not a frame for someone with a fast swing, looking for tremendous control and feel. It is however a frame for those with solid strokes, who enjoy hitting the ball either flat or with moderate spin. This frame definitely fits players from 2.5 to 4.0. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed playing with this frame.
Groundstrokes
What I first noticed was how easy it was to hit with the Blue 110. It seems somewhat effortless and very comfortable to swing. I didn’t need to overpower the ball or hit with too much spin, either top or slice. The racket responded very nicely and generated pace, comfort and good control. Those with moderate to slow swings will really enjoy this racket. I did like the way the forehand felt without trying overpower the ball. The same goes for the backhand. It’s nothing fancy, but very easy to swing and hit flat or slice with plenty of comfort. I generated enough power and control to realize that this is a very nice frame to play with.
Return of Serve
One of the only issues I had was generating enough control on the return of serve. Both forehand and backhand were great with respect to power, but control and placement, not so much. I felt it difficult to place my shots with enough power, control and depth to make this effective. Still, all-in-all, not a bad frame on the return, my game requires a little more control.
Volleys
I love Prince rackets for playing doubles and volleying. You know what you are going to get. With the Blue 110, I got what I expected—a comfortable, solid and amazing feel to the frame. The Blue 110 gave me a lot of power at the net with little effort. I also had good control and was very happy with its response.
Serve
I liked the way the racket felt on my first serve. I could really generate tremendous power and good placement, but did lack the control I needed on second serves. From my perspective it did its job,. It allowed me to generate great speed and depth on my first serves and it allowed me to get my second serve in with good pace. Overall, good, but not great.
Overall
For a 110” development frame, I liked the Blue 110. It was fun to play with. It was comfortable, solid, easy to swing and didn’t leave anything in the bag as far as power. Again this is a very good frame for 2.5 to 4.0 players.
