Boris Becker DeltaCore London Racquet Review

Boris Becker’s latest frame is one that still performs exemplary in all aspects of the game. From the moment I picked up this frame till the end of the review session, one thought continued to come to mind, “Wow I didn’t expect that”. Why? This racquet looks pretty much like every other player mid plus frame out there. Feel and performance dictate a completely different view. So what makes this frame stand out in the sea of mid plus sized player frames; novel use of Nano Carbon and Deltacore technology.

The headlight balance of this frame makes it remarkably easy to swing. In fact, I was thinking maybe almost too easy. You can really whip this frame around and it feels extremely fast thru the air. After a few minutes to adjust I was hitting deep biting topspin groundstrokes. When it came time to hit angles this frame’s spin friendliness and accuracy made it equally at home for these shots. Slices were biting when hit with authority. This frame is a dream for hitting on the rise. The maneuverability is great for half volleys and making adjustments that are not possible with head heavier less maneuverable frames. This racquet is an absolutely phenomenal baseline frame. If you like more heft it is easy to add weight to the head and handle to maintain the balance. I really recommend playing with it a few days to adjust to the feel. The racket responded well above average on off center hits. I believe this is partly due to the delta core reinforcement of the bridge and other areas of the frame.

The only place there where were no big surprises was on serves. You can generate as much spin or as much power as your arm will allow with this frame. If you hit heavy serves, you are going to love this frame. Even if you have a simple slice serve delivery, you can gain some fantastic bite with this frame. The large sweet spot really allows good leverage despite the low swing weight.

The maneuverability around the net is remarkable. The feel is incredible and the touch and accuracy is similar to frames like the BLX Six-One tour, but more maneuverable and far more forgiving. If you play a lot of doubles, I am betting you really will like the feel. It is great for hitting drop volleys.

Overall this racquet was solid in all aspects of the game. I would recommend this racquet for any player with long fast ground strokes, some one who has an all court game, or if you play at a 3.5 level or higher.
