For players seeking natural gut comfort with a slightly crisper feel, Gamma Live Wire XP 17 features a unique multicore construction for a firmer response. The Live Wire fibers which help to increase the power and comfort of the string, while the Zyex fibers are designed to be stiffer for a crisp feel. Live Wire XP utilizes the Zyex monofilaments in the outerwrap as well a pearlized coating to resist notching and enhance durability. This string will play just slightly stiffer than the original Live Wire, while it retains all the comfort and power of the original. This string is suited for an all court style seeking a more durable alternative to multifilament strings.

I've used Gamma Live Wire for probably 15 years. It continues to deliver superior performance in my new Head Youtek 5 Star racket. I like the precision of the bite on the ball. With this new racket I've improved my top spin shots. It is a versatile and steady performer for my mid-ability level play.

Ive been using these strings for 5 years, and love them. They give the ball the zip I like. The only thing I question is the length of time I get from them. I hit with a lot of top spin and whenever I hit with very powerful players my strings break. Some times they last only 5 times. But the last time I had them strung the stringer put string-a-lings on the strings and I got a few months of it. I was playing 6 times a week in very powerful mixed doubles matches.

Great strings. Highly playable with great feel. I LOVE the extra filament wrapped around the core string to give it a little extra bite into the ball to impart more spin. Ive tried using spin strings before that are designed similarly but obviously with more filament wrapping, and they have given great spin, but not much else. These strings give a good amount of spin while still proving ample punch.
The only knock against these strings is that they fray kind of quickly making you think they are going to pop soon... but they do have pretty good durability for a playability string.
