For those keeping track, Nike has always been an innovator when it comes to shoes. Every sport has seen its fair share of technological advances and Nike Tennis is continuing to change the game. Young American Francis Tiafoe was rocking the Air Zoom GP Turbo earlier in 2020, and it caught our attention. Tiafoe’s shoe looked like a tennis shoe, a basketball shoe and a running shoe had all come together to create an intriguing, unique style. Now Nike has finally released the Air Zoom GP Turbo and we’re excited to give you an inside look! Plush Zoom Air Unit The Air Zoom Zero in 2018 was the first innovative tennis shoe for Nike to incorporate a full-length Zoom Air unit into the midsole. Although it gave players a better on-court feel and a unique look, Nike felt the need to improve the shoe’s on-court capabilities. The GP Turbo now changes the game with a Zoom Air unit that is stitched directly into the upper for even better response and durability. This is similar to what the brand used on the Nike Zoom KD13’s which came out earlier this year for basketball. According to Nike, “bringing the Air closer to the foot, the Zoom strobel provides a more responsive court feel, helping athletes like Tiafoe play long into the final set.”Translucent Upper Design
[gallery columns="2" link="none" size="medium" ids="18289,18290"] The GP Turbo’s upper takes hints from previous basketball shoes from the 80’s and 90’s. It consists of a translucent textile material that adds breathability and airflow to the feet. The material also allows the Dynamic Fit system to shine through as it hugs and supports the foot during quick cuts.Added Durability
On the medial sides of each shoe are anatomically designed toe boxes that feature reinforcement material. This allows for added durability when sliding or dragging the toes. Underneath there’s a cutting-edge outsole pattern that’s designed specifically for traction on hard courts and features spacing to see the Zoom Air unit. The innovative Nike Air Zoom GP Turbo seems to encompass everything great into one streamlined tennis shoe. Head over to TennisExpress.com now to this futuristic shoe for yourself. For More:
