Who’s Wearing What At The 2019 French Open

French Open 2019

As staunch tennis fans, we couldn’t have lived at a better time. Rafa, Roger and Serena have no imminent plans of stepping down; Tsitsipas and Thiem are giving us some delectable tennis; the old Nole is back and he’s better than before; and we have Andreescu and Aliassime playing tennis that is way beyond their 18 years of age. With all these powerhouses and more battling for the much-coveted clay crown at the second grand slam of the year, we’re in for a world of intense five-setters and some unbelievable rallies.

And while we can’t tell you exactly how each of these players will fare, we’re here to give you an exclusive insight into what our favorite star players will be sporting at this grand event.

Rafael Nadal:

We had to start here.

It is safe to say that all eyes will be on the defending champion as he gears for his 12th French Open title. This is his arena, and he’s unstoppable here. The tennis giant will shine on the Parisian courts in this neon-green Nike Rafa Court AeroReact Tennis Top, with the contrasting Nike Paris Rafa Court Flex Ace 7 Inch Short in Gray.

The colorblocked Rafa Court Jacket in Light Carbon will complete his look.

The green and gray contrast will help Rafa stand out against the earthy red clay in the background. That and his phenomenal athleticism, speed and talent.

Simona Halep:

After coming close multiple times, Simona Halep was finally able to secure her maiden grand slam title last year as she clinched the French Open final away from Sloane Stephens. She returns to Paris, determined to secure her second. She’ll be sporting two different Nike outfits.

The Paris Team Court Dry Tennis Top in Black with the Paris Team Court Flex Tennis Skort make up outfit number one for Simona. It’s traditional and modern at the same time, and its sleek silhouette will allow the defending champion to shine on the clay courts of Paris.

Her second outfit is the streamlined Nike Paris Team Court Tennis Dress, which banks on simple design features to create a sporty style.

Roger Federer:

The Swiss maestro and our all-time favorite will make his return to Roland Garros 4 years after he lost to Wawrinka in the quarter-finals of the 2015 French Open. With 101 titles under his belt, can he secure his second French Open title? The Uniqlo ambassador is all set to step onto the clay courts of Paris in this color-blocked Uniqlo polo and shorts, with his custom Nike kicks.

It’s a departure from his usual solid-colored separates ever since Federer switched sponsors. (But is there anything he doesn’t really look good in?)

Karolina Pliskova:

She has been unstoppable lately. Fresh off her victory in Rome (where she became the first Czech to ever win the title), Pliskova is gearing up for a new fight: a grand slam championship. She was a treat to watch at the Indian Wells and Miami Open (specifically against Bencic and Halep respectively) and we can’t wait to see how she performs at the French Open.

She’s wearing the Fila Heritage Tennis Cami with the Heritage A-line Skort for her French Open outfit. Even though Fila has stuck to its classic color-scheme, it has beautifully incorporated modern details such as criss-cross straps in the tank and back pleats in the skirt for a more trendy look.

Novak Djokovic:

With three consecutive grand slam wins, and a Madrid Open title this season, Nole marches on to the French Open, determined to make it four in a row. Will we see a re-match of the 2019 Rome final?

Kiki Bertens:

Bertens’ win in Rome over Simona Halep has propelled her to a career-high ranking of number four, and it has sent her opponents and audience a loud messgae: she’s gunning for her maiden grand slam singles title.

Like fellow Fila athlete Pliskova, Bertens will also be wearing the Fila Heritage line. Her outfit of choice is the Fila Heritage Polo Dress, which combines the comfort of a polo with the classy style of a dress.

Dominic Thiem:

Thiem just clinched the Barcelona Open right from under the King of Clay’s nose with unmistakable comfort and skill. He has no qualms about taking on a big name; will that carry him far at the French Open this year?

He will be sporting the adidas Escouade line, with the Escouade Tee in Shock Cyan and the Escouade Short in Black comprising his outfit for the grand slam.
