Roland Gear-ros: Finalists Edition!

The French Open has always been the place for innovative new styles and wardrobe unveilings. With all of the upsets and amazing matches that we have seen so far, the tennis brand’s new colors and styles have been seen by many, many tennis fans. At the beginning of the French Open, almost all the players on tour changed their outfits to something brand new. For each of the top 4 players left in the tournament, these outfits are far from new. 6  wins in, all 4 of these players, Jelena Ostapenko, Simona Halep, Stan Wawrinka, and Rafael Nadal are fully familiar with their wardrobe and are all looking to win the 2017 French Open.

Jelena Ostapenko

Of the 4 tennis professionals still left in Roland Garros, Jelena Ostapenko is by far the youngest. On her 20th birthday, she clinched the spot to play in her first ever major final. To offset her youth, she has her controlled play and a very mature outfit. As a top she is wearing the Roland Garros Tank in White and Core Green and on her feet she is sporting the 2017 Stella McCartney Barricades in Blaze Orange. I wouldn’t exactly call her outfit matching, but the high quality ClimaCool material has kept her ahead of her competition in Paris. She will play against Simona Halep, also an adidas representative, in the Final match on Saturday. For her main tennis tool, Ostapenko uses the Reverse Color Wilson Blade 98 Tennis Racquet. It has all of the same dimensions as the traditional Blade, but a brand new, more modern color that pops on the clay.

Simona Halep

The people at adidas must be ecstatic with the WTA Finals this year. Simona Halep has been a supporter of the three stripes for much of her professional career. She is wearing the same top as her Final opponent, but different bottoms. The White and Green Tennis Skirt will cover Halep’s backside, completing her classy and understated look. She will also be using Wilson, but instead of the Blade, she will be rocking with the Wilson Burn 98 Countervail. Halep has been a major player in women’s tennis for quite a while now, so she will be the favorite going into tomorrow’s match.

Rafael Nadal

The King of Clay was the favorite on the men’s side of the tournament, and nothing has slowed him down on his path to the Roland Garros Final. Plowing through a number of opponents without dropping a set, Nadal has been seen as an unstoppable force in this tournament. To match his awesome performance, Nike made him an equally powerful outfit. His signature Aeroreact Challenger Tennis Top has gotten a color update to Blue and Lime Punch. He is wearing very basic shorts, but awesome shoes that are for the first time available at TennisExpress.com. The Lunar Ballistec 1.5’s have been staples of Rafa’s on-court look for years, but –you didn’t hear it from me – he will be switching to something different very soon. You better grab a pair before they are all gone.

Stan Wawrinka

The Stanimal is the last person on this list, and has had a very exciting run to get to the finals of the French. Beating Andy Murray in 5 sets today and a slew of other top talent, the Swiss pro is poised to give Rafa a run for his money on Sunday. With his devastating backhand and clutch championship mentality, Stan could push Rafa to the brink and hand him his first ever Roland Garros Final loss. No matter who wins this weekend, both in the ATP and the WTA, it will be a great one filled with exciting tennis.
