Volkl incorporated its Organix technology into this racquet. According to Volkl, “Organix is high tech carbon nano tubes surrounded by cellulose fibers to give your racquet a springboard effect. Organix will be loaded up with immediately again. Due to extraordinary vibration-absorbing properties, Organix gives your game 30% more dynamic power and handling.”

Groundstrokes
My favorite thing about the Organix 9 was how hard I could swing at the ball. I usually have a slower swing, but with the racquet it was so fun just to crack at the ball. That’s not to say that every ball was landing in, but the racquet’s 4-point head light balance and light swing weight made it enjoyable to play with. Anyone with a fast swing will fall in love with this racquet quickly. A tight 18x20 string pattern and great feedback from the racquet is an impressive combo – it explains the great amount of control I had with this racquet.

Volleys & Serves
Did I mention control before? I may not have been bombing serves, but I was hitting them with Roger Federer-like accuracy. I usually prefer a heavier racquet, but I could make an exception with this frame. This is definitely true when it came to volleying. It’s not a particularly light racquet at 10.9 ounces, but it felt very maneuverable at the net. I had no problem hitting solid reaction volleys.

Fine Points
I’m a huge fan of Volkl’s “Bio sensor and Pin System.” I do not like dampeners, but I do like their intended purpose. This is where Volkl shines; they built the dampener right into the throat of the racquet instead of the usual location in the string bed. It helps reduce unwanted vibrations without losing any feel in the string bed like the traditional system. The 9 Super G has the black pin built in -- this means that is made for maximum feedback, which fits in perfectly with what the racquet is about.

Overall
Overall the 9 Super G was fantastic to play with. It does not have the usual specs that I would look for, but I came away pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using it. It goes to show you that it pays to venture out and try different racquets because you never know how much you will enjoy using something new. I would recommend this frame to any intermediate or advanced player looking for a maneuverable, control-oriented model.
