Head YouTek Graphene Speed S Tennis Racquet

Volkl incorporated its Organix technology into this racquet. According to Volkl, “Organix is high tech carbon nano tubes surrounded by cellulose fibers to give your racquet a springboard effect. Organix will be loaded up with immediately again. Due to extraordinary vibration-absorbing properties, Organix gives your game 30% more dynamic power and handling.”

Groundstrokes
My forehand and backhand came off pretty consistently with a good amount of topspin. I found it very easy to control the direction of my shots and I had no trouble keeping the ball in the court. The racquet seems to suit a faster swing; a player with aggressive topspin would enjoy using the Super G 8 to hit heavy balls from the baseline. An all-around reliable racquet with a soft feel when hitting balls.

Volleys & Serves
When I was hitting my serves my slice serve was very penetrating. This is the heavier version of the racquet but I still found myself getting plenty of head speed and the extra weight added a little more plow through that I really enjoyed. I noticed that both slice and kick serves were easy to control and were given a good amount of spin with this open string pattern. At the net I was enjoying the maneuverability of the racquet. The soft feel made hitting any volley easy, whether touch or trying to hit it deep in the court. My overheads also we very clean and even on some off center hits the racquet was pretty forgiving.

Fine Points
The Super G 8 has a fine paint job that looks real sharp. The red and yellow combo really bode well together. The Volkl grip that comes on the racquet is something to remember. The grip is perforated but nothing like a Wilson Overgrip perforation, it has much less holes which I have come to prefer. I have always enjoyed perforated grips more than non-perforated but I have noticed that usually the perforated grips wear down much faster. Volkl has solved this problem and has given the best of both worlds with this grip. Furthermore the Super G grommets are enlarged grommets that allow more string movement in the string bed. I have enjoyed all of the Super G line and I think the Super G is what adds to the great feel of all the racquets.

Overall
Overall this is the type of racquet that you would look for to get the job done. It is not the type where you would be blasting balls with but it is reliable. You get a good amount of spin with the Super G 8 and have a good amount of control. I would recommend this racquet to advanced players who like to grind out rallies from the baseline or even if you like to come to the net this racquet will work for you.
