Benefits of using a tweener racquet

This is the most inexact of the three racquet categories. Tweener racquets are not: exceedingly heavy, thin beamed, unforgiving, or small in head size. Tweeners racquets are: for players whose games are progressing at different rates. For example, I may have full long swing on my backhand, but a short choppy swing on my forehand. Since I have to hit both shots frequently, it makes sense to use a frame that can give me the best of both worlds. Some frequent things you see in Tweener frames are: Mid plus head size (97-105 square inches), between 9.5-11 ounces, near even balance, beam width range from 20-26 mm. As players with faster swings improve, they are able to maintain control of their shots even with Tweener racquets. Players who have improved and lengthened their strokes might need to graduate from the power segment to the Tweener segment to help maintain their control.

  • Variable beam width and weight
