Roddicks and Babolat team up for a good cause.

The events are definitely getting underway at the US Open. Yesterday, August 26, Babolat along with Andy Roddick joined in the festivities with the “Put Yourself in Roddick’s Shoes” promotion. The event was held at the CityView Racquet Club in New York City and hosted by Larry Stefanki, Roddick’s coach. Launched by Babolat this year, the promotion is dedicated to giving tennis fans the opportunity to support the Andy Roddick foundation through their purchases. The program offers incentives to Babolat purchasers such as footwear, racquets and bags. They also have the chance to win prizes, this was the case for the winner of the “Put Yourself in Roddick’s Shoes” contest who received the opportunity to hit around on the court with Andy Roddick himself. A portion of all the proceeds with this promotion went to the Andy Roddick Foundation, presented to Roddick by Babolat president and CEO, Eric Babolat. In a statement, Babolat was quoted as saying

“Supporting Andy on and off the courts is important for us—I am happy to present this donation to his foundation.”

Having used Babolat products since before his professional career, there was no better choice of support for his foundation.

“It means a lot that Babolat supports my foundation efforts, it’s something that I am very passionate about,” said Roddick “Babolat and I have had a great relationship throughout my career—I trust the company and its products.”

Beginning his professional career with the Babolat Pure Drive racquet and Babolat strings, Roddick used the products during his win at the 2003 US Open. Roddick has continued to use the Pure Drive Roddick GT Plus Tennis Racquet with RPM Blast strings.
