Head YouTek Graphene Speed S Tennis Racquet

With the introduction of Yonex's complete V-Core line, the Xi Team Plus comes in as a great “tweener” frame, or a nice lightweight option for both beginners and more seasoned players.

Groundstrokes
At 10.7 ounces strung and a 4-point head light balance, the racquet feels great in the hand. The extra length with this racquet really helps in making it suitable to a wide array of players, and adds a little more power to this frame. It also has a slightly cushioned and flexible feel that gives good feedback.

The 16x20 string pattern felt very dynamic. It really gave me the ability to roll the ball with heavy spin, or drive through the court a little flatter. Staying true to Yonex's Isometric design, the sweet spot seems quite large, and the stability on all groundstrokes feels fantastic. Even against strong shots, there was enough plow through to feel comfortable handling pace. The added length and the head light balance must account for this. I never felt that I was going to over hit with the Xi Team Plus, and hitting deep, past the service line felt easy.

Overall it feels very maneuverable in the hand, and the light weight of the frame allowed for easily generated racquet speed. Combined with a control-oriented string, I felt comfortable hitting both offensively and defensively all around the court.

Volleys
While at the net, the Xi Team Plus was easy to maneuver because of its weight and balance. I did however feel that I had a little more difficulty driving volleys, which I attributed to its lighter weight. It did feel great for touch volleys. As for my overheads, the added length added a nice dose of extra pop.

Serves
The Xi Team Plus took me by surprise on the serve, and I found a remarkable amount of spin and power from this frame. Kick and slice serves came off of the strings with great action and I found a lot of control from this racquet similar to what I would expect from a 93-95sq inch frame. Flat, power serves also felt great and the extra length really made up for the lack of weight that I would normally need when trying to deliver a strong serve.

Overall
The Xi Team + is a very dynamic racquet and is suitable to a wide array of players. With its light weight, it is an easy frame to swing and advanced players will value its control. If you think you might need some extra control, a hybrid or loosely strung full polyester setup will work well. Like many other Yonex racquets, the 16x20 string pattern allows for easy access to spin, yet a very comfortable feel when driving a more flat ball.

Though the racquet did not feel great on my volleys, it did feel good on touch shots and overheads came easy. Serving with the Xi Team Plus was enjoyable and the extra length helped add a lot of power. This is definitely a racquet that I could easily recommend to players of almost all levels.
