Meet the Bold New Nike Spring 2014 Women's Collection

By Tiffany Thor

The Nike Women’s spring 2014 Collection is here, bringing with it bold new variations of the gamma blue, raspberry red, and many shades of grey that we saw in the Holiday collections. This spring the pendulum seems to swing from timeless neutrals and soft shades of blue, such as the Women’s Premier Maria Tennis Tank in Glacier Ice, and trendier colors that awaken the senses, such as bright magenta, green abyss, and turf orange. Whether you go subdued or outright daring, you can’t go wrong.

Perforated fabrics to keep you cool, playful patterns that flatter your form, and creative use of color blocking are trademarks of this collection. But no worries – Nike has not done away with your favorite staples, such as the Pure Top and Stripe Pure Tennis Tank, now available in the updated color ways. Your favorite skirts like the Four Pleated Knit 13” Skirt, Straight Knit 14 Inch Tennis Skirt, and Flirty Knit Skirt also return. If you prefer shorts while training you’ll welcome back the Tempo and Victory shorts, but don’t overlook the all new Circuit 2-in-1 Short that feature compression shorts underneath polyester taffeta for the perfect combination of comfort and support.

If you liked pieces in the Premier Maria collection of fall 2013 such as the Premier Maria Tennis Tank, you’ll want to pick up the latest in similar styles. The fall line was particularly successful at incorporating perforated fabric for breathability, and this season continues the use of that technology. Same for the Premier Maria Skirt that was so popular, now with creative stripes. Never one to disappoint, you’ll want to keep an eye out for the Premier Maria Tunic Dress in Glacier Ice that she’ll be wearing at the Australian Open this month.

Of course popular shoes like the Zoom Vapor 9 Tour return in a new model - the 9.5 - and coordinating colors, but Nike is also introducing the new Lunar Ballistec with Nike Lunarlon cushioning, XDR rubber outsole, and evolved Flywire technology incorporated into the synthetic leather upper for a shoe that can keep up with you on the court regardless of how hard you play. Coordinating Nike accessories such as the favorite Featherlight Caps and Visors also make their way onto the scene in the show-stealing colors, so you can experience high performance apparel from head to toe.
