This racquet provided me with a high amount of control on both wings. I was really able to step in and rip the tennis ball. On returns, I was able to deliver thundering groundstrokes from baseline to baseline without reservation from a fast and loopy swing style. This frame was quite demanding on my arm as it is extremely flexible; however I felt more vibration being absorbed compared to the previous model. I had no problem generating topspin and slice however if you pride yourself on high topspin generation I would go with a more open string pattern.
Volleys: I was definitely at ease with how well the racquet responded to my volleys. With a headlight weight distribution already in place, it was relatively easy to maneuver the racquet for angled approaches. The forgiving 100sq in. head size allowed me to control shots at the net even from fast and heavy incoming balls that would normally tend to torque the frame. The racquet exhibited a softer flex for more feel needed to execute more intricate drop shot techniques. Serves: I was able to really pound the ball on my first serves. Even with a limited kick in my serves, I could still place my serves well within the line whether going to the deadly corner or aiming right down the line. The tight string pattern provides plenty of controlled bite onto the ball for powerful serves with plenty of force. I didn’t find myself having to sacrifice much power at all to compromise for the frame’s control. Overall: Overall this racquet does feel more flexible than its predecessor. It definitely has plenty of pop and a softer touch without the “dead” dampened feel. Mis-hits are quite forgiving for players who don’t have a bull’s eye precision to hit dead center every time, especially against quick paced volley returns at the net where time is of the essence. This Youtek IG Speed MP 315 racquet comes with very little power but remarkable control for players who love to wind up for long swift swings at the ball. I would recommend this racquet for a 4.0+ tennis player.
