HEAD Youtek Instinct Racquet Review

buy this racquet demo this racquet

The Head Youtek Instinct MP is designed with Head’s new feature of technology, d30 technology. The “smart material” design provides players with the softness and touch when looking for control, and the stiffness on impact when looking for a more powerful and deeper shot. With the 100 sq in head size, 18x19 string pattern, head light balance, and 11 ounce strung weight this racquet is ideal for an intermediate to advance player. This racquet provided me with the power I was looking for and the precise shots when in pursuit of control.

Groundstrokes

While trying the racquet, I was a bit hesitant that the racquet wouldn’t provide the pop and power I usually demand in a racquet. I was surprised to see how smooth the sweet spot was when hitting my groundstrokes. By having the 18x19 string pattern, it gave me the control and feel with the aggressive play style I had. I was able to hit my balls deep into the court and took a few winners off my opponent. This racquet also provided excellent topspin and slice with its string pattern. This racquet will fit perfectly for players who have a long and fast swing speed. I had to keep my swing speed at a fairly fast speed to get some of the deeper and more angled shots.

Volleys

The racquet was very maneuverable due to its lightweight feel. The 11 ounces strung weight allowed me to switch from either side fairly fast. The quick and responsive feel offered solid and controlled volleys to my game style. I had to make sure I was on point and hit the sweet spot dead on to get the best feel and touch.

Serves

I thought it was kind of tough to serve with this stick. I thought it was a little bit more demanding on my arm compared to my personal racquet. Other than that, the racquet provided an ample amount of spin and control. I was able to get good placement and power when my serves connected with the sweet spot.

Overall

Overall, the Head Youtek Instinct MP is a pretty decent racquet. Like I said before, this is a racquet for a more intermediate to advance player. This would be a perfect fit for NTPR of 4.0 or higher. An aggressive player who has a fast and compact swing speed would benefit the most out of this racquet. With the control and spin it provides, a player can hit deep and quality shots.
