Dunlop Biomimetic 300 Racquet Review

The new Biomimetic 300 is based on Dunlop’s newest technologies, the racquet is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features the all new Biomimetic technology based on nature. The HM6 Carbon helps enhance the racket feel, Aeroskin technology reduces aerodynamic drag making the racket faster through the air, and the Gecko-Tac grip helps provide ultimate control in all conditions. Players looking for maneuverability and control will love the new Biomimetic 300.

The racquet felt stable from all areas of the court. I found it easy to handle and very solid on both backhands and forehands. The open 16 x 19 string pattern allowed for very easy spin generation and I found hitting flat, slice and topspin was easy. I had full confidence from the backcourt hitting deep and had excellent power when going for winners. I had very good control when slicing an approach shot from the mid court. The almost even balance (2 pts headlight) really comes through from the baseline as all my shots felt solid with control. The new head shape that’s a bit more elongated than the current 4d/Aerogel models provided a huge sweet spot. The new Aeroskin technology will make the fame 25% faster through the air – all I can say is that I had no problems generating racket head speed. Even though its only 10.9 oz it hits like a frame much heavier.

At the net it’s very quick and packs a good punch. The 98in head provides excellent pop was easy to move around at the net. I had no issues on reflex volleys and I had great pop even when I had to reach or was out of position. On almost every shot at net I felt very comfortable hitting for power or placement. Control was excellent and it felt like I never over hit – My initial reaction was the even balance would cause some maneuverability issues at net but I never found that to be true. It didn’t matter if I was going for power or placement on volleys or overheads I loved this frame at net. Overall at net I was able to hit a variety of shots and angles with confidence.

Overall serving was a pleasure, I found a very solid and comfortable response and the even balance and open string pattern helped provide excellent power. It was easy generating spin and control was good, not great but good. I did find I had to use spin to help with control a bit but since getting spin was so easy after about 30min of practice with the 300 I was completely adjusted.

I was very impressed with what is a very versatile racquet. With a 98sq. inch head it is the perfect racket for strong club through to advanced players who want exceptional touch and feel from a lighter frame that plays solid like a 12 oz one. The 16x19 string pattern and 21mm beam combine to give plenty of stability and excellent overall control. I would recommend this racquet for players of all game styles and levels as it is suitable for almost any swing type.

Also, players should check out some of the new Biomimetic bags that would go great with this racquet! Dunlop has released a few in all sizes including 3 packs, 6 packs, and 10 packs to match your needs.  Check out their neat backpacks and gym bags!
