In 1995 Agassi shaved his head marking the end of his "rebel" or "bad-boy" image. He met his building rival Pete Sampras in five finals all on hard-court. Agassi then started to push his career more towards fitness and rose back to the end of the year into the top 10, ranked 6 One of the highest jumps in history in one season. He then proceeded to make appearances in all Grand Slams and tied a of record consecutive Grand Slam final appearances. Agassi later finished in the top 10 for the sixteenth time in 2005. He then signed with Adidas leaving Nike after seventeen years. In 2006 he suffered from severe injuries that resulted in his withdrawal him clay season all together. During his return at Wimbledon, he announced that he would retire at the end of the U.S. open. He has a short but emotional run within the U.S. Open having to receive anti-inflammatory injections after each round. After losing in the third round to 112th seed Benjamin Becker, he was gifted by the crowd an eight minute ovation and salute to his long, victorious career and delivered a emotional retirement speech.

Agassi had earned within his career over 30 million dollars in prize-money and earned over 25 million dollars in endorsements which is the most by any tennis player and fourth in sports of all-time.
