Description

The Babolat RPM Blast 18 is the string of choice for Rafael Nadal, and Jo-Wilfreid Tsonga. RPM Blast stays with the octagonal profile but enhances the spin generation through the use of a new dye and coating. The cross-linked silicone coating is designed to allow the strings to slide across each other easier. This serves two purposes, the first is that the string can move easily, effectively allowing the stringbed to play as a more open pattern. The second, of course, is to enhance durability by lessening string to string friction. Babolat's RPM Blast is a popular choice among strong baseliners seeking durability and spin to dictate the action.

Construction: Extruded co-polyester monofilament

Color: Black

Gauge: 18g /1.20 mm

Length: 40 ft / 12.2 m

Features:

-Silicon based coating for snap-back

-Softer Octagonal profile for Spin

-Used on ATP and WTA Tour

this string responds well only if you hit dead center. anything off the sweet spot and you cannot feel how the ball will react

Strings are great - questioned using these, since she is only 13, but she loves the way it feels when she hits.

Best main so far

I use this on the main @ 55 lbs with recoil on the crosses on Prince Speedport Silver. I have been most satisfied with this set up although I am looking for something better. The recoil allows RPM to rebound back into place and RPM seems to have the best spin potential of the strings I have tried so far. I have not had any elbow problems with this set up like I have had with other string combinations

Good Spin

String at lowest recommended tension for your racquet. After 1 to 2 hours feels like mid-tension hybrid or high tension synthetic. Great spin potential. Need to swing a little more on volleys than with synthetic or hybrid to get pop. Ground strokes are amazing, accuracy and spin. Serve is great, too. A little less power, however the added spin means my serves rarely go long now. Drops shots seem easier to me, if I dont swing the ball dies. I have a racquet with Babalot natural gut 17, a racquet with Wilson NXT Tour 17, a racquet with Luxilon power rough mains and Babolat 16 natural gut crosses, and a racquet with RPM blast 18 on mains and crosses. The RPM blast 18 is my favorite, I can hit offensive shots from anywhere in the court, even when I should be on defense.

18g string review

the 18g really bites into the ball. i could slice like cutting through butter. the touch on my topspin lob was amazing. I highly recommend the 18g if you want touch. the only downside was that I broke these strings after about 6 sessions.

RPM-BLAST!!!! Fantastic string for maximum spin. Im using the 18guage. Though the durability for 18G has been an issue for some. Not for me! I wish the Pro-Hurricane tour would come in an 18G. Because I like to switch between the two. But as for my swing, I will keep this string in my racquet. I havent found anything else that has compared to the RPM-BLAST.

I have used this string for 5 weeks and am very pleased with the way it feels, plays and even looks in my frame. I am, however, 52 and the poly string is starting to take its toll on my arm. Reluctantly I am going back to my NXT Tour 18 to save my arm for the rest of my playing days. You young guys need this.

Nice control
5/5
I understand why Rafa hits with these. The spin is pretty good and the control is excellent. Still adjusting to hit flatting balls but topspin shots are so easy with these strings. Even though these are an 18 gauge string they are holding up really well so far.

This string is really good. It is hands down the best string I have ever used. It has everything power, a ton of spin, and it does not move after you hit a top spin shot.
