Construction:
Main strings - Multi-polymer MonoGut monofilament Synthetic Gut.
Cross strings - Multifilament Synthetic Gut with abrasion-resistant wear layer.
Playability:The Ashaway MonoGut monofilament main strings resist notching for superior durability. MonoGut resilience is superior to Aramid main strings for improved response. The 16 gauge Synthetic Gut cross strings are used to insure adequate flexibility and ball control by complementing the stiffer monofilament main strings.
Recommended Usage: This hybrid string combination is recommended for power players and hard hitters who are looking for a combination of multifilament synthetic gut playability and superior monofilament durability. It is especially designed to satisfy hard hitters who feel Aramid hybrids are too stiff and unresponsive.
Recommended Stringing: It is recommended to string MonoGut mains with approximately 10 lbs. less tension than the synthetic gut crosses. Variation from this recommendation may be necessary because of racket design or style of play.
